Established in 1920 as one of Canada’s first university Nursing programs, the School of Nursing is steeped in tradition and remains a leader in its discipline. At Western, our nursing students learn and practice in our new state-of-the-art Clinical Education Suites – a simulated hospital and home environment with computerized, talking mannequins to practice various nursing skills, work as a member of a health care team, and provide care for patients and families. With an array of flexible program choices to suit the flexible needs of students, Western’s Arthur Labatt Family School of Nursing will provide a foundation for a lifelong career with diverse opportunities.

Program Information
Western-Fanshawe Collaborative BScN Program
The University of Western Ontario and Fanshawe College have joined together as equal partners in education to offer students a collaborative Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree (BScN).
The Western-Fanshawe Collaborative BScN is a four-year program from which graduates are eligible to apply for registration as professional nurses with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
The first two years of the program are offered simultaneously at both Western and Fanshawe campuses, with 125 students at the Western site and 125 students at the Fanshawe site. Clinical experience begins in the first year.
All students will study at the Western campus in years three and four. The final term of year four is a full-time clinical placement.
Compressed Time Frame Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN)
The Compressed Time Frame Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN) is a comprehensive program that qualifies graduates to apply for registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
This is a concentrated five–term full-time program requiring students to study in the fall, winter and summer terms over 19 months. Students entering this degree program will have already completed two years of University studies that includes the successful completion of specific prerequisite courses. The Compressed Time Frame Program is only offered at the Western Campus.
