NEW ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS FOR THE ACADEMIC YEAR COMMENCING SEPTEMBER 2013
For Science
Grade 12 U and M Courses Required
English ENG4U
Calculus and Vectors MCV4U
and two of:
Advanced Functions MHF4U
Biology SBI4U
Chemistry SCH4U
Computer and Information Science ICS4U
Earth and Space Science SES4U
Math of Data Management MDM4U
Physics SPH4U
Note: First-year Biology and Chemistry requires Grade 12U Biology (SBI4U) and Grade 12U Chemistry (SCH4U) respectively.
First-year Biology and Chemistry courses are required for all modules offered by the Department of Biology and for some modules
offered by the Department of Chemistry and other Science departments.

Note: Although Western offers first-year physics courses that do not require high-school physics as a prerequisite, it is strongly recommended that students complete Grade 12 U Physics (SPH4U).
If you are currently attending an Ontario Secondary School, you must complete an Ontario Secondary School Diploma including the following to be considered for admission:
* Six Grade 12 U and/or M level courses.
* English ENG4U.
* Required prerequisites for your program as specified by Western.
Additional Admission Information:
* All Grade 12 prerequisites will be included in the calculation of your admission mid-year and final averages. All Grade 12 prerequisites must be completed.
* There is currently no limit on the number of Grade 12 M courses used in the calculation.
* Co-Op courses will not be included in the calculation of an admission average.
* If a course has been taken more than once, the highest reported successful grade in the course will be used in the calculation.
* Applicants who are not currently registered in an Ontario secondary school on a full-time basis should complete the appropriate OUAC 105 application form.
* Applicants attending secondary school after completing university courses at another institution must disclose this information on the application form and submit transcripts to the Undergraduate Admissions Office. You should apply using a 105 application form in this situation.

This form will allow you to provide information about circumstances that may have adversely affected your academic performance in secondary school. Circumstances may include: financial issues, required employment, disability, illness, or other personal or family matters.
Extraordinary Extracurricular Activities and Contributions to Citizenship Profile
This supplementary profile is designed to recognize your commitment to extracurricular activities and active citizenship through your ongoing contributions to school and community life. If you believe your average will fall marginally below the University’s minimum admission requirements, and you have made significant contributions, you are eligible to submit a profile.
