Varsity Teams & Clubs
Western has a proud tradition of athletic excellence that extends from the field of play to the classroom. Student athletes at Western compete at the highest level both athletically and academically and have the opportunity to enhance their learning experience by being part of a varsity team.
A wide range of programs and activities geared to all levels and abilities are available to all students through Campus Recreation.
Western Student Recreation Centre (WSRC)
Opened in 2009, this $35 million state-of-the-art facility was made possible by the largest student donation in history at a Canadian university!
Registered students receive a WSRC membership, funded through a small recreation fee within their activity fees.

With more than 1,200 different teams and 15,000 participating students, Western has one of the largest intramural sports programs in Canada.
Campus Recreation employs nearly 400 students each year to provide leadership in our many recreation programs. Students can work part-time in a variety of positions, including intramural sport officials, lifeguards, camp leaders and fitness instructors.
