International President's Entrance Scholarships

Three awards of $50,000 ($10,000 annually, plus $10,000 towards first-year residence costs) are available to outstanding international students. These prestigious scholarships recognize exceptional academic performance, creative and innovative thought, and significant achievement in extracurricular activities. Students must complete an application form, which requires writing an essay. Forms are usually available in November for students applying for entrance the following year. Admission Scholarships

International students applying directly from secondary school for admission to Western’s main campus for first year, full-time studies may be considered for the Admission Scholarships below. Admission scholarships are unlimited in number and are awarded automatically in September to all qualified first-year students.

Eligibility is based on successful completion of secondary school, Western's calculation of your final admission average, and prerequisite courses related to the program of study you will pursue at Western. A separate application is not required for consideration. Eligible students will receive official notifications about the Western Admission Scholarships in late August.

Beyond First Year: Scholarships for Upper Year Students 

After international students complete one year of study at Western, they become eligible for In-Course Scholarships and Awards, which are awarded based on previous performance in classes at Western and current registration.

Other Scholarships for International Students

A number of other bursaries and awards are designated specifically for international students. These awards range in value and include scholarships based on a demonstrated need, as well as awards connected to specific countries of origin.
