Tuition & Expenses
Your main costs at university are:
- Tuition & Student Fees
- Living Costs
Tuition is what you pay for your classes at Western.
Your tuition depends on the program you want to study and whether you are Canadian or International student. You also pay student fees each year—some are mandatory and some you can opt out of.
Below are estimates based on 2024-25 tuition. You won't get your exact tuition and fees cost until you are registered in courses.
- Estimated year 1 Ontario tuition and fees: $8,000 to $14,400
- Estimated year 1 Canadian tuition and fees: $9,000 to $16,300
- Estimated year 1 international tuition and fees: $47,500 to $63,400
International Students: Tuition Fee Guarantee
Starting September 2021, tuition rates for undergraduate international students will not increase more than 4% per year, after Year 1.
Living costs are just that—how much it will cost to live while you study. Here’s a rough estimate to give you an idea of your living costs for one academic year (September-April) at Western. All prices are in Canadian dollars.
Coming from another province or country? You should also include the cost for trips home. If you’re international, add in the costs for your visa and study permits.
