Step 5: Prepare for Western
Pay Your Fees
Before you start at Western, you need to pay your tuition and residence fees. Let’s go over how much, when and how you pay.

Your residence fees are included on your Detailed Statement of Account.

How Much?
Your tuition bill will be available at the beginning of July. It’s calculated once you enrol in courses. We’ll send you an email when your fees are posted on Student Center.
Tuition is different for everyone. Figure out my costs.
Costs are outlined in your Detailed Statement of Account. To find this:
- Log in to your Student Center
- Find the Student Financials tile
- Select “Statement of Account” (remember, this won’t be available until July)
Fees include:
- Tuition
- Residence
- Other, including your bus pass, Orientation Week pass, and health and dental plan

When?
Fees are due in two installments. Due dates are on your Detailed Statement of Account.
- August: Half your fees + extras
- December: The rest of your fees
How?
Canadian Bank Accounts: Pay your fees online OR send a cheque/money order.
International: Western uses GlobalPay to make international payments simple.
Due to banking regulations regarding sanctioned countries and regions, Convera GlobalPay is unable to accept payments from sanctioned countries. If Convera receives a payment from a sanctioned country, it may be held. Refunds to sanctioned countries are not possible.

OSAP and Scholarships?
Ontario Student Assistance Program (OSAP):
- Apply for OSAP before June 30 if you need the money to help pay for your first installment
- If you do this, and OSAP is covering the total amount for your first installment, you don’t have to do anything in August
Scholarships:
- Western Admission Scholarship Awards are deducted from your second installment in December (you must pay the first installment in August)
