Which programs provide internships or paid work experience?
Nearly every program at Western offers opportunities for work-integrated learning, whether through an optional internship, co-op, practicum, or a required work term. These experiences allow students to apply classroom learning in real-world settings, build valuable skills, expand their professional networks, and gain hands-on experience before graduation.
Is direct entry available for Ivey Business School?
The Ivey Advanced Entry Opportunity (AEO) extends conditional, pre-admission status to the HBA Program to exceptional high school students.
Ivey AEO status is available to secondary school students who are admitted to Western University or one of its affiliated university colleges (Huron or King's), in a faculty of their choice, for their first two years of university.
Are there any Asian restaurants and grocery stores around campus?
Yes. London has a diverse community, with many East and Southeast Asian restaurants, food businesses and grocery stores where students can find familiar foods and products all within the campus area.
Some local restaurants include Gol's Lanzhou Noodle, Congee Chan, Bangkok Pad Thai, Katsu Express, Ozen Korea, Pho Lee and many more. There are also an array of East and Southeast Asian grocery stores, including T&T Supermarket, JH supermarket, United Supermarket and Superking Supermarket.
What academic support is available?
Academic Support & Engagement provide resources and supports to help students in all programs and faculties feel confident and enhance their learning. They have 3 areas of support including:
- Accessible Education: Supporting students with disabilities to engage meaningfully in academic and co-curricular activities.
- Learning Development & Sucess: Helping students identify strengths and develop new skills and strategies for success.
- Writing Support Centre: Assisting writers with any academic or professional writing, at any stage of the writing process, in any genre, across the disciplines.
Can I submit my application through an agent?
Western welcomes international students to independently submit their application to the university or work with a third-party recruiter, such as an educational agent. If you choose to work with an agent, be sure to check for official parternships with Western.
