Advanced Placement (AP)
Your admission is based on your secondary school curriculum. We’ll accept AP courses taken at your high school to calculate your admissions average. However, we cannot admit you based on your AP exams only.
Check out your country or curriculum in our admission requirements to find what you’ll need to get into Western.
Transfer Credit
Achieved at least a 4 on your AP exams? First of all, great job! Secondly, you may be able to receive transfer credit. These are credits that could count towards your degree at Western.
You can transfer a maximum of two (2.0) full credits. These credits need to be approved by the appropriate faculty at Western.
To consider you for transfer credit, we need the College Board to send your results directly to us as soon as they are available. Be sure to leave the ‘department code’ section blank to make sure the Undergraduate Admissions Office receives your grade report. Western's Institution Code is 0984.
There are lots of options, but they don't work for everyone. So, you should discuss what’s best for you with an advisor at Western Launch: 1-1 Course Advising.
Ask your advisor:
- Can I fast-track to second year courses or take an extra elective?
- Would using a transfer credit ease my workload?
- How can transfer credits affect my application to professional or graduate programs?
- Can a transfer credit fulfill breadth requirements?
- Could I graduate sooner?
Here’s a list to give you an idea of how your credits could transfer:
