Kalan Roye
Third-year computer science student Kalan Roye came to Western driven by a passion for creating intuitive technology solutions. Through full-stack development and AI models, and with support from Western’s entrepreneurship ecosystem, he is applying computer science to real challenges—building an all-in-one academic planning platform that rethinks how students plan and progress through their degree.
Kalan is among the thousands of students at Western using their unique talents to pursue meaningful change in the world, today.

- Honours Specialization in Computer Science with a minor in Software Engineering
- Founder of Crux Planner, an AI-powered academic planning platform
- 1st Place and People’s Choice winner, Western Startup Challenge (funded by Morrissette Institute for Entrepreneurship)
- Pipeline Engineer, 3DWestern — building automation systems at the Morrissette Digital Maker Space
- Co-developed VocalGuard AI, winner of Best Real-World Application at Toronto Tech Expo
