Apply on OUAC
Ontario Universities’ Application Centre (OUAC) is the hub for applying to all universities in Ontario. You will use OUAC to apply for full-time studies at Western, and to give us the initial information we need.
If you're applying for part-time studies, you'll use a different application form.
Go to OUAC and get your application started.
How to apply
Creating your account
Start by creating your OUAC account. When you create your account, OUAC will send you an email to verify your email address. You won't be able to submit your application until you've done this.
Application tips
Here are some important tips you need to know:
- Use your own email address (not your school email or someone else's email)
- Use your own cell phone number (we may text you)
- Use your legal name as it appears on your passport / government-issued ID (you willl also have an opportunity to add a preferred name in your application)
- You have to include every course at every secondary school or university that you're currently attending, have attended previously, or will attend before you start at Western
- If you’re attending high school after completing college and/or university courses, we’ll ask you to submit official transcripts after you apply
- When you are adding programs, remember to not apply to the same faculty or program (same OUAC code) more than once
- If you are a current Ontario High School student (Group A), OUAC will send us your grades. You'll have to make sure all of your courses (including courses scheduled in the future) and grades are uploaded correctly by your school
- If you are taking courses outside of your regular day school, those also have to be uploaded to OUAC
- It is your responsibility to make sure any courses taken outside of your regular day school are approved and accredited by the Ministry of Education
- If you are taking courses outside of your regular day school, those also have to be uploaded to OUAC
- For all other applicants (Group B), we will ask you for your grades and other documents through your Student Center after you apply
When to apply
The application will open on OUAC in September prior to the year you want to begin your studies.
All Western undergraduate students begin their studies in the Fall semester (September). We have no Winter (January) admission for undergraduate programs. A Summer (May) start is available for students who aren't applying from high school.
We recommend you apply by February 15 for guaranteed consideration.
This deadline is for early consideration, which means you are guaranteed to be reviewed for admission. We will accept applications that come in after the deadlines, but we can't guarantee space availability in our programs.
Cost
- $156.00 (CAD) for 3 program choices
- $50.00 (CAD) per choice for any additional choices
- $10.00 (CAD) service fee if you are not a Canadian citizen or permanent resident
- $100.00 (CAD) supplemental evaluation fee for non-Ontario high school applicants
- Any additional transcript request or document fees
Email confirmation
When you successfully submit your application, you will get an OUAC Reference Number (10 digits long beginning with the year, YYYY-NNNNNN) in your confirmation email.
Then, OUAC sends the information to Western overnight. You'll receive a confirmation from us within a week after you applied (it may take us a bit longer around holidays).
Making changes to your application
We can't make changes to your application on our end. You will have to log in to OUAC to make any changes you need, including changes to your personal information, adding or changing program choices and updating your contact information.
After we get your application, you'll need to create a Student Center account.
