Your Student Center Account
Student Center has your most up-to-date application status.
Your Student Center is your application home base. In it, you'll see:
- Your most current application status by choice
- Your To Do List
- Your admission decision when it's made
Creating your Student Center account
To set up your Student Center Account, you'll need:
- Your Western Student Number (9 digits long. We'll send you this via email a few days after you apply.)
- Your OUAC Reference Number (10 digits long beginning with the year, YYYY-NNNNNN)
Then, follow these steps:
- Get an Access Code
- ⚠️ Make sure you screenshot this number! You will need it for the next step and if you ever forget your User ID in the future.
- Activate your Western Identity
- Use the access code and your Student Number.
- Follow the steps until you see your User ID (it'll be your first initial, all or some of your last name, and zero to four random numbers). Be sure to note or screenshot your User ID.
- Enter an 'alternate email', which will be used to notify you when your Western email is ready. Use the email address you used on your OUAC application.
- Create a password and save it somewhere safe.
- Log in to Student Center
- You'll use your brand new User ID and the password you just created.
Didn't get the email?
If you didn't get the email with your Student Number, it's most likely in your spam folder. Look for the subject line It's time for your next steps about 2 to 5 business days after you applied on the OUAC.
If it's not in your spam, use our Virtual Helpline form. Select My Question is related to: Student Number Retrieval, and we'll send it to you again.
Lost your User ID?
Use the Western User ID Retrieval tool. You'll need your access code from when you first created your account, your Western Student number, and your birth date.
Forgot your password?
Follow the steps to reset your password.
Checking your application status
Select the 'Admissions' tile, followed by the 'Applications' tile. You will see all the faculties or programs that you applied to.
In the status column, you can see the most current status for each choice. Select the application to learn more about what the status means.
When the status of your application changes, it will always appear in your Student Center first. We promise we don't have any additional information that you can't see yourself!
Ivey Applicants: The status of your Ivey AEO application does not appear in Student Center.
Your To Do List
You'll find your To Do List in the 'Admissions' section of your Student Center. This is typically a list of documentation we need from you.
We can't assess your application until we have all of the items on your To Do List, so check it carefully and frequently.
Submitting Your Documents
Select an item on your To Do List for details of how to submit. It's important you submit items exactly how we ask for them, or we will ask you to submit again.
Have we asked you to submit by uploading to Student Center? Check our instructions to be sure your documents are reviewed quickly.
Recommended Submission Date is not a deadline
Next to each item, you'll see a 'Recommended Submission Date'. If you send us your items by this date, there won't be delays in your application.
If your documents are available after the submission date, still send them to us. We will continue to review new documents as they arrive.
We recommend sending in your documents as early as possible or as soon as you have access to them to avoid any delays.
Understanding the Item Status
Your To Do List items never disappear. When we receive something from you, we simply update the item's status in the staus column. Generally, this is what the statuses mean:
- Missing: You need to submit this document.
- Pending: You have uploaded your document or submitted your Self Reported Grades form and we are in the process of reviewing it. Once we review it, the status will change to 'Received' or, if it wasn't what we asked for, 'Missing'.
- Received: We checked your document and it's what we needed.
- Exempted: We asked for this document, but we no longer need the item so you don't have to send it.
We won't always notify you of a deadline coming, so put them in your calendar!
